Ethics & Principles

Modhannan (motha-anan): A sense of ceremonial ethics, a shared understanding of being together.

Coinne (con-nu): A sharing and reflecting by which we ‘imitate’ one another or act as one, and so come into harmony and balance.

It is as these two essences suggest, and we understand through ceremony, that the below principles are universal to any relational process, either professional, therapeutic, personal, with ourselves, with others, worlds and states of being, not only, yet essentially, for Spirit practice;

  1. The source of all is through the Will and Love of the Universal Creator Spirit; Tei. This is our beginning, our journey and our ultimate destination.

  2. That this Will and Love is manifested in the Ancestral and Totemic Spirits

  3. Tei Sarna; everything is in the moment and the moment is everything; that everything is an inseparable part of the Whole.

  4. All of mundane creation is an expression of Mhúinidhann (voonivanya), which is hope; that which the Ancestors manifest to guide us to destiny.

  5. Recognising that we are each a spirit with a body, mind and soul, not each separately. Our spirit is in essence who and what we are; it is the essential ‘I’; the experience, the singer of the song.

  6. Our spirit is our Greater self, not the mortal self, the more than, the ancestral sojourner and is the Great Song inherent within us.

  7. The An’N, (soul) is the friction between the song of the Ancestral Spirits and our Elemental song manifested in the temporal state.

  8. Establishing contact with the spirit within, our own spirit, which is the source of personal empowerment and creativity and not relying or depending on some external power or authority.

  9. All wisdom is the essence of the Ancestral Spirits and all wisdom is incarnate holistically in all creation. Realising that everything is alive. Animals, trees, rocks, oceans & mountains, the earth and stars, each has an ‘aliveness’ that may be a different experience from our own, but nevertheless living. This will open our eyes to our way of being with all around us and in communion with the Universal Creator Spirit, and the Ancient Ones.

  10. The manifest and temporal are the false dream of life, into which the Ancestral spirits dream with us, both tangible and spiritual experience, in order to guide, support and comfort us as we remember the true dream of the Ancestral world.

  11. Everything external is a reflection of an internal process or journey that is calling for attention and is a manifestation of The Three Fears that keep us from our spiritual destiny.

  12. The Source sings a Great Song that our An’N is drawn to – there is but one song though many tunes. No tune or singer is greater or lesser  than the others.

  13. That diversity is a demonstration of the magnitude of the grace of Tei that offers us many paths of revelation and experience in our journey home.

  14. Nothing is measured by Good & Evil, Positive & Negative; these concepts are illusory and open us to judgement. There is but the Centre of all, that the 3 fears calls us or drives us from.

  15. The universe is the sacred expression of the Will of the Divine Source; The Universal Creator Spirit and is created and maintained with Love and animated with the breath and wild wind song of Life.

  16. The An’N; soul is the reflection of the Divine love affair between the Ancestral Spirits and the elemental beings and by friction will define itself and return in its perfection.

  17. Everything is characterised energy and is interchangeable with everything else. Mind, matter, spirit are different levels of the same energy. Energy is the vibration and grace of the Great Song.

  18. All energy is in motion and follows the law of harmonics; it will achieve maximum efficiency with minimum effort and return ultimately to the Source. Creation is the song of the source, it’s dance is the Egregore of all cultures.

  19. All things in the universe have life, that they and others experience in different ways, or hear the song in different tunes. Nothing is truly dead, for all is in motion.

  20. Everything is made up of the same primary elements and receives the same energies; individual beings organise themselves differently. Therefore everything evolves within the law of its own being.

  21. Everything ‘evolves’ by continually seeking harmony and balance with everything else. (This ‘evolving’ is a remembering of primal spirit so might be more correctly stated as ‘devolving’)

  22. The only constant in the Universe is the inevitability of Divine Grace and the destiny of change.

  23. Everything is completely and ultimately linked to everything else and everything is subject to the Ancestral Laws as defined by many in their spiritual, not human experience.

  24. Everything comes into existence through the feminine principle, moves through the male principle and eventually comes into the balance of the source.

  25. Children, the young and the new, must not be harmed for the continuity of life and the promise of the future is through children.

  26. Circular motion is the law of everything; Lineation is but an illusion. Absolute beginnings and endings do not exist, because there were and are no true beginnings.

“I stand before the altar of sacrifice,

before me the flames of the beloved,

behind me the tearful eyes of the lover;

it is the blood of my heart

that will dry those eyes

and repose me in the caress

of The Ancestors”
